Re CHARLES E ROHLFS, Military ID xxxxxxxx DOB xx/xx/xxxx DOD xx/xx/xxxx SS#xxx-xx-xxxx

Good Day, Secretary Hegseth,

I am writing to you as a follow up to a letter I sent several months ago, to which I received no response.

My mother, Jaimee Rohlfs was conceived and carried at Camp Lejeune Marine Base, her parents being assigned housing in the CAMP KNOX TRAILER PARK. As you are aware, there has been a decades-long cover-up of the pollution that was discovered there in the late 70s.  My grandfather died of Non Small Cell Lung Cancer in 1980, at the age of 40.  He had served in the Marine Corp between 1956 and 1960, and then as a reservist from 1960-1962. I am including a copy of his record of service for your reference.   He received a “SECRET” clearance in 8/1956 while seemingly assigned to work as a messman and guard.  This leads me to believe his service was not necessarily recorded in a transparent fashion, especially given the fact that his baby died, his wife died and his daughter all died under similarly suspicious and inexplicable circumstances. I’ve since learned my grandfather was buried in a 16 gauge shielding casket, a fact no one in our family was aware of until it was revealed to me by the funeral service who handled his arrangements.

I have been unable to receive any further information about his time in the service since Rep Rosa Delauro D-CT was able to assist with obtaining his records from the NPRC, which was late last June.  I have filed numerous FOIA requests, each rejected on some technicality or referring me to another agency they believe will have the records needed to reconstruct EXACTLY what happened to my grandparents, my uncle, my mother, my siblings and our children.

I am writing to you as the sister of a fellow member of the 101st Airborne, who was killed in combat in Afghanistan. My mother, his step-mother, encouraged him to join the Army because her father had been able to build life with the skills and discipline he learned in the military. As previously mentioned, my brother,Mike(Dae Han Park), went on to become a Green Beret, honorably serving our country from 1998 through his combat fatality death in 2011.  He served tours in Iraq as well. Had my mother know that the life her father built was cruelly ripped away by his death at the hands of the Marine Corps, I sincerely doubt she would have encouraged Mike to join.

As it pertains to my grandfather, my suspicion is that he was subjected to Atomic Testing or biological weapons testing.

What bothers me most about all of this is that twice the DoD was mandated to notify those affected by Atomic Weapons Testing and by Camp Lejeune Contaminated Water.  As my mother was dying in 1999 at the age of 40, also having had the life she meticulously built ripped away from her and us, her young children by extension, she was completely unaware that she or her parents and brother has been exposed to toxins.  I had been unaware that my DNA is likely compromised due to genetic epigenic changes brought on by my GRANDFATHER’s service in the military 65+ years ago, toxic water and possible atomic or chemical exposures.

I have suffered a lifetime of annoying health issues including Hashimoto’s Disease, Exercise-Induced Anaphylaxis, Depression, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, generalized inflammation and dental issues. My children both suffer from neurological conditions(ADHD, POTS, AUTISM). My brother’s 2 children both carry an autism diagnosis.

As I watch the changes being made by Secretary Kennedy, I have hope that some of these past human rights abuses under the military-industrial-pharma-university-teaching hospital-public health-public housing authority will be addressed.  Your leadership in exposing the abuses in the military is sorely needed for our nation to make a fresh start after these several decades of abuses and gaslighting of America’s veterans. The time for full disclosure of these Rockefeller Institute inspired programs involving eugenics and human experimentation under Operation Paperclip is now. Without admitting these abuses, it would be impossible to assess the true causes of todays major health issues given that many of our grandparents were drafted into the military between the Korean War and Vietnam, and subjected to such practices as atomic testing, excessive tuberculosis screenings using fluoroscopic x-rays, human experiments with vaccines, biological agents, gasses, chemical agents, radioactive materials, inhaled, consumed, applied to the skin, etc. There are decades of documented reckless cases of ignored contamination at military installations.

Admitting these abuses would be a strong message to those veterans affected that their sacrifice matters, that we acknowledge that they have suffered in service of our nation, that we know mistakes were made, and that we are committed to transparency.  Only by doing so can we expect tomorrow’s parents to agree that a career in the US military could make sense for their child.  No sane person would agree to sacrifice multiple generations of their family in exchange for literally anything that the military could offer to them.  Asking them to do so is not only morally bankrupt, but antithetical to the idea that all men are created equal, given that we value the lives of these individuals, and their offspring, so little.

The generations of suffering have already taken place within my family.  I trust we are on the early edge of the coming deluge of those who are rendered neurologically damaged, cancer-riddled, infertile, and endocrinologically/immunologically compromised.  Having met many men and women affected by both atomic testing and by contaminated water exposure, all I can say is shame on us as a nation. $75k for being irradiated such that your grandchildren are infertile? $300k under the elective option for dying at 40 of lung cancer due to Camp Lejeune contamination? Really? And they are being made to fight for that. Please take a moment to review the US filing pertaining to what defines “water” under the filings pertaining to Camp Lejeune Track One cases. Veterans are dying while the US is arguing over the definition of water and arguing against their OWN STUDIES showing a link between the contamination and the conditions victims have suffered from.

It needs to be acknowledged that industry lobbies have changed laws to shield themselves from liability related to their actions in the activities outlined above, and the military has instituted policies designed to terrorize those on whom these abuses were carried out, such as secrecy oaths and threats of prosecution for treason. These threats even included the inability to disclose involvement to their own spouses and future MDs, regardless of their health outcomes and concerns, meaning many, my grandfather included, honorably carried these secrets to their graves.

The ACHRE and ATSDR reports have been incestuously administered half-measures that bought time, but have done little to nothing toward notifying those affected. There needs to be complete transparency and notification of all downline relatives of those affected, even if it’s hard.

I am imploring you to take decisive action on this. Make this right.  This is a matter of the utmost ethical concern to those of us whose children will be made to register for the selective service rather than going to West Point or receiving a deferment, if you follow my drift.

What is done in darkness always comes to light.  Please be part of the process of finally bringing to light all the machinations and details of this shameful part of our history.  Only in doing so can we begin to restore faith in the goodness and glory of the America we all strive to live in.

Sincerely,

LJessica Allen
